Hiromoto Ida
Performance artist from Tokyo. Running his own Ichigo-Ichieh Dance Company,
Hiromoto directed and choreographed an original contemporary dance theatre
piece "KESSA", performed on June 13th, 14th and June 21st at
Capitol Theatre in Nelson.
Hiromoto was born and raised in Tokyo. He studied drama and performance
at the Tama Art College and moved to Vancouver in 1987. He has performed
with number of companies and dance festivals throughout Canada, the U.S.
and Japan. His dramatic roles include the starring role in the 1994 film
"Tokyo Cowboy" and he was nominated for a Jessie award in the
1997 Vancouver performance of "Serpent Kills".
John Tucker
Music composer, producer and teacher. He has been working as a producer
for many years in Toronto and Nelson, and teaching Composition and Computer
Applications to Music at Selkirk College.
He wrote original music pieces for "KESSA", using Japanese traditional
music essences. Currently he is producing for Aspen Switzer's second album, coming out this fall. |
